The Cost of Treatment
One of the first questions many people ask when they’re ready to get help for substance use disorder, including alcohol addiction, is, “How much does treatment cost?”
Most people need to consider their budget when choosing a rehab program, and we understand that reality at Shadow Mountain Recovery.
Don’t let the price of care become a barrier to getting the help you or a loved one needs. Learn about what you are paying for at Shadow Mountain Recovery and the payment options. We never want the cost to stand in the way of you or your loved one getting the help you need. Knowing what to expect can help put addiction treatment within your financial reach.

Understanding the Cost of Addiction Treatment
We understand that cost often is a concern when it comes to treatment. There are many variables involved with drug and alcohol treatment costs, making it difficult to provide a set dollar amount for your individual treatment plan. The main factors that affect the cost of a rehab program include:
- Treatment type
- Treatment length
- Amenities
- Location
- Needs of the client, such as detox services or treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions
We provide for all your needs through tiered pricing plans. This includes lodging, meals, 24-hour staffing, special outings, recreation, aftercare planning, and more. A member of our care team can discuss exact costs with you.
Outpatient programs that focus on treatment and don’t provide 24-hour care cost less. Shadow Mountain Recovery Centers offer residential and outpatient treatment programs. We also work with all major insurance companies and provide payment options to make paying for treatment easier.
Payment Options for Addiction Treatment
Payment should never keep someone from getting the help they need. There are options even if you don’t have the cash available to pay for addiction treatment.
Senate Bill 317
The passing of Senate Bill 317 makes addiction treatment more affordable for many people. The “No Behavioral Health Cost Sharing” bill, effective Jan. 1, 2022, allows New Mexico residents to receive addiction treatment without cost-sharing, including a deductible.
Private Insurance
The Affordable Care Act requires most insurance companies to pay for at least a portion of mental health services. Your individual plan determines what percentage of the treatment cost your insurance will cover.
When you contact Shadow Mountain about admission, we can verify your insurance. Our team will calculate any out-of-pocket costs.
Scholarships and Grants
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) offers grant programs. These programs help pay for the cost of addiction treatment services. Visit the SAMHSA website for more information.
In-House Financing
Payment plans and in-house financing may be available through Shadow Mountain Recovery Centers. Speak with one of our admissions specialists to learn more about this option.
