Take Our Alcohol Assessment to Know if it’s Time to Get Help

The first challenge in overcoming a substance use disorder is recognizing that you or a loved one have a problem.

The World Health Organization created the AUDIT (Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test) quiz questions to determine if alcohol controls your life. It is a 10-question assessment that will ask questions about alcohol consumption, behaviors, and alcohol-related problems. It only takes a few minutes to get through the self-assessment.

The AUDIT is a practical assessment tool for alcohol use and identifying harmful drinking patterns. Those who wonder if they have a drinking problem, but are not ready to call the care team find the self-assessment as their first step towards seeking help.

These quizzes all attempt to answer the same questions:

  • Has your substance use progressed beyond recreational or experimental use?
  • Do you have an active alcohol addiction?
  • What steps do you need to take to achieve recovery?

For each answer, there is a corresponding score. The score will give you one of four possible results with recommended next steps.

You Are Not Alone

Alcohol addiction is a problem for more than 14 million adults in the U.S. If you feel your alcohol use has become challenging to control or creates problems in your life, you are not alone. If you’re concerned that a loved one has a problem with alcohol, we can help. Our alcohol assessment can tell you if it’s time to seek professional help or encourage your loved one to do so.

Success is In Your Future

You are not the first to wonder if you need a test to tell you if you drink too much. We have opened the doors to others exactly where you are now. Taking the first step is not easy, but our care team is here to guide you every step of the way.

If you’ve received a positive result on the Alcohol Assessment quiz, you likely have a substance use disorder. Addiction is a chronic and debilitating disorder with a host of negative effects — but you can recover from it. Your next step after an addiction quiz is to get a formal diagnosis. You can contact an alcohol addiction treatment center to ask for a diagnosis and begin the path to recovery
